My 6 Week Grace period...

It's over... My grace period is over. It's been 6 weeks. Let me explain. From day one, people have been giving me a time frame. 6 weeks. They've told me, "she won't start sleeping good until about 6 weeks." "Don't even think about a diet or exercise for the first 6 weeks." "Don't worry, the first 6 weeks are a total haze." "No 'you know what' for 6 weeks." "Go see the doctor after 6 weeks." "Don't worry about your messy house or your sweat pants or the fact that you haven't showered in three days... just give it 6 weeks." Well... My 6 weeks are up.... Yesterday. I feel like it was dooms day, like the morning rolled in with a low and loud DUN DUN DUN!!! Am I supposed to be wonder mom by now? Should I really fit into my pre pregnancy clothes by now? Do I really need to shower EVERY day? Just kiddin'... Seriously though. Well I decided no. I don't need to be wonder mom or a size 6 by now. I really am writing this to just laugh about it. I'm not getting down on myself and I know I don't need to have everything figured out by now. In fact, I'm willing to bet I don't have everything figured out by the time she moves out when she's 20. I think I'm just going to take it day by day. Or at least 6 weeks by 6 weeks. I decided with my 6 weeks behind me, I should make some new goals, like eating a little better, get my butt back to movin and groovin at the gym (or at least in my living room with a Jillian Michaels and P90x dvd). I'm trying to implement somewhat of a schedule at night with Londyn. She really is doing so good. 6 hours the last 2 nights. I almost don't want to say that out loud in fear that I might jinx it. I've been out of the house a little bit more with her and today I actually ran quite a few errands. I am loving this little gal as my side kick. What a fun girlfriend she is. And so so darn cute. I love showing her off. Her newest accomplishment... smiling. She is actually starting to make eye contact and smile at people. It melts my heart. I feel like I'm starting to get to know her personality a little bit more, and she sure loves to snuggle. We are 2 in love parents to this little gal. I feel like even though life got crazy crazy hectic... It's a little simpler at the same time. There's not really a whole lot more that I need when I'm at home snuggling with my cute husband and my adorable baby. I love them more than I thought I could. And it's only going to get better. Here's to the next 6 weeks!

Ok, and Londyn's little friend Capri was born just a couple days ago! Isn't she a doll?! Congrats to our wonderful friends Marianne and Landon. Capri and Londyn played in heaven while their parents cruised across the Atlantic just a year ago. Crazy where we've all been in a year! Anywho... Look how big Londyn looks next to her. And Capri was even a little bigger than Londyn when she was born. Crazy what 6 weeks can do!

Baby Land...

Welcome to Baby land. When I first found out we were having a baby, I couldn't wait to decorate the nursery. And how fun once we found out we were having a little girl. But living on a student budget isn't easy and doesn't leave a whole lot of extra mula to decorate. Thank the heavens we live in Arizona, the yard sale capitol of the world. We basically did her whole nursery via yard sale finds. At first I wasn't sure about the whole idea, looking at yard sales for your babies room. You know, you want the best for your baby, especially the first. But once we started looking, the hunt was on and we had a blast every saturday morning hunting for good finds. And we found awesome stuff. Her room is adorable and I love being in it with Londyn. It definitely is a girly girl room. It's perfect for her.

In case we forget whose room it is, the blinged out "L" leads the way.
A picture from the door way, seeing part of her room. Don't mind that the frames have pictures of random people. I haven't developed pictures yet. And Don't you love all those bows? Thank you mom. My baby would be bowless without you!
Another picture from the doorway, you can see half her room.
Her little changing table and dresser. I am in love with how the dresser turned out. Gabe and I found an old brown dresser at a yard sale. We brought it home, sanded, painted, and distressed. It turned out awesome. I love love love the color. Gabe and I also did the name on the wall. It was all Gabe's idea. He is so creative. We also found the chandelier at a yard sale for a screamin' deal.
A close up of her name and the chandelier.
A close up of her dresser.
And her little bird jewelry holder is my favorite.
Her cute little armoir. Long story behind this gem, but basically we found it on the side of the road all beat up and free. Gabe insisted we bring it home. He repainted and added knobs. It is my favorite. It looks perfect in her room.
Her little decorations. That "L" in the middle is a picture from a Prague. The "L" was carved in a fountain in the courtyard of Prague Castle. I loved it and took it for my sister Lauren. I didn't know it at the time, but we had little Londyn on board in my belly.
Her cute little wardrobe.
She hasn't really dug into her toy basket yet but we do take advantage of the books. She loves being read to. Gabe's grandma gave us the awesome rocking chair. I love it. Londyn is so lucky to have such great grandmas and great grandmas.
Gabe built and painted her shelf from things he found at the D.I. It turned out awesome. I have been saving these little decorations to put up in my little girls room. Both those dolls have been waiting for my little girl. I used to play with the glass doll when I was little. And the little blue one was my grandma spencer's when she was little. It's fun to pass on all this stuff to my daughter. Gabe's mom did the cute flower arrangement and we found the little chair at a yard sale. It reminds me of my Grandma's famous line: "No empty chairs in heaven or earth."
This hangs above her crib. My mom gave the picture to her while we were in the hospital.
The crib. Isn't it the Cutest?!!! Again, we found the crib at a yard sale for an awesome price. It was in the BEST condition, we couldn't pass it up. And my amazing mom worked endless hours to make her bedding. Isn't it beautiful?! I am so so lucky. She really is amazing. I LOVE it! It looks like it's straight off of pinterest. Right?!
A close up of the darling fabric. I LOVE the ruffles.
The start of her shoe collection. ;)
My little baby lounging in her crib... in her swing. The only way she'll sleep right now.
The whole wall. You can see how everything fits together.
And the window wall.

Londyn's Beau-friend...

Londyn has a little boy friend. His name is Beau. My best friend Megan and I got pregnant right around the same time last spring. It was so fun being pregnant with her, and it gave us a really good excuse to go get frozen yogurt three times a week. Meg was due a few weeks after me. But, little preemie babies run in her family and she delivered Beau 9 weeks early while they were visiting family for the holidays in Utah. I was so grateful that we were up in Utah when she had him. Gabe and I were able to visit a few times before we headed home. Beau was adorable and I fell in love with him immediately. He had to stay in the NICU for quite a while. But he was such a champ. What a strong little dude! He is doing awesome now and last week Megan and Devin and Beau came home to Arizona. Yay for us!!! I was so excited to see Meg and the little guy and introduce them to Londyn. Well, they finally met yesterday! It was so fun to hold little Beau while Meg held Londyn and chat about being new mammas to these little angels. I am so so grateful for Meg and her friendship and to go through all of these things with her. She keeps me sane for sure! Crazy that last year, this same month, we ran the marathon together. So fun to have her in AZ with me. Life will take us both totally different places come summer, but we are going to soak it up until then.... walks, pool days and mall runs with the babes. Londyn and I Love you Meg and Little Beau! So glad you're here!
Londyn looks way bigger than Beau here. That's because her outfit doesn't fit. :) She's actually a little smaller than Beau. No one wants to be bigger than their boyfriend. :)

1 month!

Somewhere between yesterday and today, our little gal turned one month. She was born on the 30th and since we don't have a 30th in February... its somewhere in between. Wow. I cannot believe it has been a whole month. What a blur. My days roll into nights and my nights into days. I think I finally might be getting the hang of things, either that or hanging on the edge of sanity... it depends on the day. One thing is for sure though. I am in love with Londyn Belle. She is such a sweetheart. She seriously melts my heart. I know it sounds super cheese, but that really is how I would describe it. She has blessed our lives a million times over. I'll be honest, I've had a few melt downs and break downs trying to figure out what her little tears are telling me, but I do LOVE being a momma. Today I put her on her back on her little blanket while she kicked her little legs and squirmed around. She is such a little chatterbox. Even when she is sleeping, she is cooing and making little kitten noises. So as she was laying on her blanket, both of us chatting back and forth, she started to smile at me. And not just one little smile like the ones we've had here and there. No, she seriously kept smiling at me as I would talk to her. Its was in that moment that I forgot that I haven't slept a full night in a month, that my house is a little messier than before and that my showers come at the most random times of the day. It was the most amazing feeling. I felt like for just a second she was telling me, "you're doing ok mom". I needed that from her. I sat there and watched her as tears rolled down my face. So grateful for my beautiful little girl. She is my little angel. We've really started to get to know each other over the last month. Somethings she does that I never want to forget...
-She is such a chatterbox. Always making little noises and squeeks.
-When she eats she grunts as she breaths in, like she can't get the milk in fast enough
-She loves her swing. It has saved us. That's what she sleeps in every night.
-She's had a little cold for a couple weeks. Its getting better, but makes her "snore" or just breathe really loud at night. I don't mind. I love listening to her breath as I lie awake at night. It gives me peace of mind.
-When we turn off the lights, her little eyes widen like they're going to pop out of her head.
-She loves being rocked, bounced and sang too. She loves primary songs.
-She LOVES the car. Its a sure fire way to get the gal to sleep.
-When she's in her carseat, she HAS to be moving. Moving, moving, moving.
-She loves to cuddle and sleep with her dad. He loves it too.
-She has to have her hands out of her blanket, no matter what.
- She has the biggest toots and burbs. Wierd how I feel such an achievement when I get a big burp out of her.
- She eats everyday for sure at 3. We love watching Ellen together.
-Gabe and I still can't decide who she looks like. I hear from others more that she looks like Gabe way more than me. My sister calls her little Gabe in a baby body. My mom thinks she's a combo. I think I see more Gabe in her. But... her eyes are blue... Just like her mamma's.
-She is so sweet. I love every day with her.

Here are some pics at one month and some others from the rest of the month. I know. I take way to many pictures.
